As part of National Teen Driver Safety Week, Driver’s Edge returned to Atlanta on October 17, 18 & 19 thanks to Straight Talk Wireless and its Straight Talk Safe Driver Initiative.
On Friday, October 17, we held a very special Driver’s Edge behind the wheel program for media and local families which integrated Straight Talk’s Safe Driver Car Connection™, a device that helps keep families safe while the car is in motion by disabling text messaging. The experience included a hands-on product test of the device and demonstrated the impact that texting and driving has on our driving abilities.
Then on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 we conducted our sixth Driver’s Edge event in the Atlanta area, educating nearly 650 young drivers and parents over the course of the weekend. With National Teen Driver Safety Week under way, it was a great opportunity to focus attention on the dangers of texting and driving and distractions in the car.
