Another summer, another great four days up in Reno! With 1,048 students and parents joining us and great support from all the local media (we had visits from the CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates), the event was already a summer highlight for Edge.

As always, our thanks to all our local partners, including Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen, Washoe County Regional Public Safety Training Center (our hosts), Champion Chevrolet in Reno, Grand Sierra Resort Reno, the Nevada Department of Transportation, and of course the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety!

2015 Season Kicks Off in Las Vegas!

The 2015 Driver’s Edge schedule will kick off in Las Vegas as we return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on February 21 & 22, 2015!

We’re starting a little earlier in the calendar than usual in an attempt to get as many of you in the program as we can this year! The high demand for Edge and the support we continue to receive from our hometown community of Las Vegas has been fantastic and we hope to accommodate everyone who wants a spot this year!

Edge & Straight Talk Wireless Kick Off National Teen Driver Safety Week in Atlanta!

As part of National Teen Driver Safety Week, Driver’s Edge returned to Atlanta on October 17, 18 & 19 thanks to Straight Talk Wireless and its Straight Talk Safe Driver Initiative.

On Friday, October 17, we held a very special Driver’s Edge behind the wheel program for media and local families which integrated Straight Talk’s Safe Driver Car Connection™, a device that helps keep families safe while the car is in motion by disabling text messaging. The experience included a hands-on product test of the device and demonstrated the impact that texting and driving has on our driving abilities.

Thanks State Farm!

A very special thank you to State Farm! Over the years, State Farm has donated funds to help support certain programs we’ve held around the country and in 2014, Edge was again a recipient of a Good Neighbor Citizenship Grant from State Farm! This year’s grant helped fund our June 7-8, 2014 event in Las Vegas, which like all Edge events, was free for students and parents to attend! We’re grateful for State Farm’s commitment to young drivers and the help they’ve provided to Driver’s Edge!

Edge Chosen For Palms Fundraiser!

The Palms Casino Resort chose Driver’s Edge as the designated charity for “Cabanas For A Cause” for Monday September 17!

As part of the event, the Palms donated all proceeds from pool cabana rentals to Edge! It was a great day in the sun hanging out poolside! Auction and raffle items were a success and the staff and pool-goers at the Palms couldn’t have been more supportive! Thanks to everyone who helped make it a great day! We’ll look forward to doing it again next year!

Where Were We?? Reno!

We spent four great days in Reno, Nevada from July 24-27, 2014 visiting with our friends in Washoe County at the Regional Public Safety Training Center!

Another great turnout with total attendance of 1,081 students and parents! Our thanks go out to all our local partners there, including RPSTC, Champion Chevrolet, the Grand Sierra Resort, the Nevada Dept. of Transportation and of course the Dept. of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety. We couldn’t have done it without all of you!

We look forward to returning next summer!

Where Were We???

Our most recent event was in Las Vegas on June 7 and 8, 2014 and temperatures upwards of 105 degrees weren’t high enough to keep away all 691 students and parents who came out for the event!

As always, our thanks go out to everyone who attended, along with all of our Las Vegas area partners and sponsors, including the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Nevada Highway Patrol, Plaza Hotel Las Vegas, Trade Show Technical, State Farm and NDOT!
